A village view of Dish Networks
Posted by Mr. Channel under Features
I checked out a nearby village just because I wanted to check how much iron these people have on their dish services and just about what clearity they are getting. For sure I was dumb as hell to go check this out you may be thinking as the satellite gives out the signal everywhere at the same polarity. So there should be no real problem with the telecast.
But hmm to be more clear I’d say I wanted to check out the services of Dish TV networks and plus a few more things so I headed for a village nearby.
When I reached the village, I hunted for a Dish, and I found two houses having Dishes, they were in the middle of a series of farms… and both had dishes, so I ventured to those houses, and to my biggest surprise, one dish was of Tata Sky and the other was of Dish TV.
When I went to the house with Tata Sky, I found a little kid playing games on his little 14″ TV (The Tata Sky games) I asked him to call someone from his home… he came back with his father, who was more than willing to inform me about the Dish and its performance.
He told me that the Dish was really very good and doesn’t black out in rainpours unlike the neighbour’s dish. I was not at all surprised seeing the poor performance of the Dish TV dishes against weather as compared to Tata Sky’s Dishes.
I browsed through the channels and checked out all the features and they were good enough, the guy had the Dish stuck on his rooftop. I actually found it pretty cool considering the Dish was fixed so firmly that even a Dish TV dish stuck at that strength would have sustained any weather (Jokes, of course you know). I asked the dude where did he get this Dish from.
I was expecting a reply like he got it from the city or something but instead to another one of my surprises he told me that he actually got it from a person in the village itself, I asked him to show me the place and he was actually true, there was a guy dealing in Tata Sky dishes right in the middle of the village, although his primary business seemed to be retailing daily-use products.
He had added a good Rs. 500 (USD $11) to the normal price one would get a Tata Sky dish purchased and installed for, but oh well I guessed it was all because of the pain he took to get the dishes from the city and get em installed in the village.
We went back to his house and then I went to his neighbour who had a DishTV dish installed, now was when I faced someone in as a bad situation as me, seriously, I felt like hugging the guy and shedding a few tears lol, after all even he had not had an update on his DishTV software and was going hectic smashing the remote to the pillow he was sitting on, our conversation started with me informing him that it was unhealthy for the remote to be subjected to a torture like this, to which he retaliated asking me about my identity, when I told him who I was he was out of tension and decided to introduce me to his device.
I was no novice to a Dish box and of course I knew at the sight of an old Zenega STB that this guy did not had an update, and he actually hadn’t. I told him about how the people with the new STB’s have got all the updates, after some time talking he actually told me how jealous he was of his neighbour’s Dish (I am not making this one up) and that he has called his provider multiple times to get the software updated as he had been informed about by all the TV commercials by DishTV.
I told him that maybe he and I were the only creatures being tormented upon like this
and he shared the laugh. I then asked him where he got the Dish from, he told me bought it from the nearby town an year back (Right, there comes the old Dish part) I then asked him whether he had some kind of a dealer in the village and he replied that they didn’t have one and that he was considering taking an “agency”.
I swapped through the channels at this point of time and the quality was fine enough, but the guy also told me that the Dish blacked out almost every time when there was a weather problem, and when we checked the position of his Dish, this guy actually had it cemented to the half of the Dish, I was amazed.
So here was the conclusion:
Tata Sky wins!
Of course Tata Sky does, they have an extended network, their dish doesn’t black out and best of all IT HAS THE UPDATES.
Feel free to comment guys!
