Would you refer to buy Airtel digital right now even though it is new in the game and might hav some teething problems?
Look n Feel of the STB is good, though it has a USB there is no component video o/p ,hdmi or atleast S video o/p, so how can we expect high quality video…? Airtel takes much care on everything…i dont know y did nt he gave these features on his STB.
Is the STB HD-Ready (Y/Pb/Pr)? I want it for my LCD.
I called their Cust care and they are telling me economy is only available for customers after value pack term is over, so they can buy value pack and then keep adding packages but travel and living will be missed
unless u go for a mega pack which cost 2500 and takes 72hrs to deliver excluding Sat and Sun, so book on monday and it will delivered on Thursday

Few days back, I have been to Airtel outlet to gather the information about their dth. The picture & sound quality are amazing. The set top box and remote quality/styling are excellent. Overall functionality user menu are also very nice. Too good to see a usb port on it.
Airtel says it is HD ready(1080p/1080i). This is a pure gimmick played by the Airtel guys!
To make it HD ready, it should have a HDMI port which is missing. Even it doesn’t have component video(720p) or S-video output.(Be aware, component out doesn’t make video really HD). No bother, no HD channel is avilable in India right now. HD in India wll take at least 3 years.
One more disappointment, even the quite common SPDIF port in satellite receivers (digital audio out for home theatre receivers) is missing.
No doubt, Airtel provides the best STB in India today. But, a component video and a SPDIF out would have made it unbeatable!!!
Can I shift my Airtel DTH after installation? I m shiftting from Mumbai to Ratnagiri. No service here till next month. So am i able to relocate the DTH self in Ratnagiri? I have technical person.

Hey all … think twice before go for Airtel digital TV services… There are lots of hidden costs like reinstallation etc and Customer care department of AirTel DTV is the worst .. they even dont register your complaint if your account balance is low. Its my own experience.

Last month a Airtel Digital Tv marketing representative contact me and he explain the merits and demerits of Airtel Digital Tv and I have take a Airtel digital Tv connection on Rs1750/- (Included 6 months subscription ) after 1 month the signal automatically disconnected I have contact the Airtel Digital Tv customer care, the next day a person call me and he informed that please recharge your account your account has been minus balance because you are activated Malayalam package I inform that person I don’t request for any package and how can you activated the packages without payment (minus balance) I think this is an idea to collect money from the customer. I am not satisfied with the service provided by Airtel Digital Tv. Please aware all

I have tried to connect my cellphone via USB to the airtel digital tv USB-port as – a Webcam device, as a Mass storage device, and as a COM port….one by one!!! But guess what…. it just started charging my cellphone each time … via USB port !!! My handset make is INTEX ACE IN6611 . And i have found second costliest USB charger for it.. hahaha…. first id my HP tx2000…!!!please dont try it if your’s phone is not having USB charging facility… !!! Rest options I selected din,t show any change in Configuration of STB. I am an IT engg. I Still want to explore all the face of possible use and connectivity through USB… if you feel any need or have any idea of what we may do with it then please share it over here so that we can look over it to develop such freaky things for future uses… regards… RAJ.

Ref :Customer ID NO:3002610172 of Smt Saraswathi Rao.
I write this mail to you being absolutely hurt for having subscribed to Airtel Digital Services and also having recommended to a lot of my friends.
The services to the said ID was abruptly disconnected on 29th for no Rhyme or reason. ( the renewal subscription was paid on 23rd April itself.
Further to this I have been trying to contact your office through 12150 and the response to all my calls are horrible and objectionable as the staff in the call center have made 13 false promises. ( I have recorded the conversations) I have made a total of 65 calls to the said number and other customer Scare numbers of 44448080,080-41704930, 02040181400 .
I have also sent about 14 SMS to 54325 for which there was one tepid response.
I have been polite to absolutely rude with you Customer Scare Executives which is of no avail. ( I never thought humans can be so thick skinned)
Should there be some shame left in the organization I expect an RESPONSIBLE officer to call me on 9008302505

I purchased the samsung lcd telivision along with the airtel disc is free. the telivision is purchased in the month of august 2009 from arcee electronic panvel. at that time there is no need to install but today i am shifted to the alibagh and want to install the dish now please help me to insatll the dish.there is no one in the alibagh to install it. as i have the code no. also they told me that this is not registered. please register my code and to start the services as early as possible.

Whosoever is the person concerned I really am not bothered but Ihave been facing inconvenience with your connection eversince 11th of may.After lodging a complaint with your customer care 2 so called technicians came over corrected the fault and within half an hour of their leaving the problem persisted.On calling the customer care they ensured me of service the next day but in vain. After waiting for 2 days I again called up Customer care who told to lodge a fresh complaint and when I told them that since the problem is the same they should treat it as a continuation the concerned executive was not convinced then on further persistance they transferred the call to some senior staff who was equqlly unconvincing and when Ipersisted the demand of retaining the old complaint no the connction was rudely severed.Next day again the same problem persisted and this time the call was transferred to a technical staff who too hung up the phone with the query if a TV mechanic repairs the TV and the problem persists won’t you pay him again for the second visit.No person will pay the second time for the same problem .Kindly ensure that such misbehavior is not repeated with other customers because this is gross negligience and fit to be taken to consumer court but due to want of time and energy I REFRAIN FROM DOING SO.

Arrogance on part of airtel customer service is not unsurprising of late. Previously, 3-4 years ago, i was happy with airtel customer care for both mobile and broadband and had recommended other customers also. Recently, I have found their mobile customer care staff very unhelpful. Now, i am looking for a new DTH service. After my few recent bad interactions with their mobile customer care, i am not considering Airtel Dth in my list. Companies like Reliance and Airtel have grown too huge, so small customers like us they are not bothered. They have forgotten that we small customers are the people who made them grow huge.
