But both are same. TV5 Monde Asie is available in Dish TV. The problem is Dish TV carries the name as TV5 Monde alone, but the channel's name is TV5 Monde Asie and if you check in Dish TV Channel list it is given to be TV5 Monde alone.

If you see the channel logo you will see the word " Asie" below TV5 Monde. There is only one version available throughout Asia.

But what I have learnt about TV5 Monde is that the whole of Asia only receives TV5 Monde Asie. There is no channel called TV5 Monde alone. Whereas in Africa it is called as TV5 Monde Afrique. In France itself it is called as TV5 France Belgique Suisse (FBS).In Brazil it is called as TV5 Amérique latine et Caraïbes.In Bahrain it is called as TV5 Monde Orient.

The channel has different versions in different countries based on their continent.

Yes, even I feel that TV5 Monde and TV5 Monde Asie are NOT 2 DIFF CHS. And especially when India has downlinking permission for TV5 Monde Asie only, how can Dish TV show just "TV5 Monde" ? There is no chs named just "TV5 Monde" alone. Its TV5 Monde Asie which is received by the whole of Asia out of which India is one of them.

When TV5 Monde Asie was FTA on Dish TV, I remember seeing the words "Asie" just below the TV5 Monde logo, so no doubt Dish TV shows TV5 Monde Asie and charges unnecessarily for it. Please visit this site and you will know that TV5 Monde is FTA and that feed is covered in Asia as well:

I don't understand the whole point of discussion over the channel name. But so far one thing is very clear that this is not Exclusive Channel to DishTV customers and even if it is what is the use of this channel? What percentage of Indians understand this Language? Also they don't have English Audio Feed so i thinks its useless to waste money and space on this channel. instead we could have any other channel.
I feel its useless to put on some channel in a Language which no one (or 1 in a million) is aware of just for the sake of getting EXCLUSIVE Channels. In this manner Dish can ADD all 180 foreign Channels in many Foreign Languages and Claim to be service Provider with Max Exclusive channels.
What a waste DishTV.

You can't say that, there are many French understanding audiences in Pondicherry and in some parts of the country. Even some people like me who have studied the language may want the channel.

IT GIVES A WHOLESOME ENTERTAINMENT SEVEN DAYS A WEEK
