Zone Reality officially suspended their transmission to the Asia Pacific region today (July 1st 2008), citing poor ratings as the reason.

Dialog TV, this time, already had a replacement channel planned. NDTV Good Times, a lifestyle channel broadcast by NDTV sponsored by Kingfisher, was added today at around 6.00 PM LKT whilst Zone Reality blacked out.

NDTV Good Times broadcasts programmes related to food, culture and lifestyle, mostly in English language. The channel is already broadcasted on many Indian DTH networks.

Sri Lankan Cable TV network LBN added the channel to their lineup just a week or two ago. It is unknown whether that was done knowing that Dialog TV would be introducing the channel, or if their move provoked Dialog TV.

It will be interesting to see how the channel rates among Sri Lankan viewers, so a poll in included in this post. Please view the channel yourself for a few minutes before voting. And please, only Dialog TV users, not Indian viewers. We want the Lankan picture.

Well I guess it would be great channel but mostly shows are Indians realted. But you can enjoy some great shows like Highway On My Plate, Around The World In 85 Plates, All About My Car, Honey and many more.

Well NDTV Goodtimes has good ratings among the Indian users. Its available almost across all cable TV networks in India. Though this ch is available in TataSky, Big TV and Sun Direct as far as Indian DTH is concerned. The ch is going good in India and I am sure it will be a hit amongst the Sri Lankan viewers as well.

NDTV Good Times is Crap....

As per my knowledge 80% of Dialog TV viewers love Zone Reality, because of the content.

I love Cheaters, CREEPY, CRIME STORIES, DEADLY REPTILES, FACT OR FICTION? & …MUCH MORE.

Well, its up to the fans to ask Zone Reality to continue transmissions in Asia. But it is unlikely they will change their mind, as Asia Pacific has been a loss for them in terms of money.

If they introduce commercial advertising, that too will be unwelcome among viewers. Its a difficult situation.
