Hello Everyone,
When i first got my big tv.. i had a model 1 STB.. it used to show 100% signal and 97-98% signal quality... but after that.. i changed my STB due to hanging problems... it was also STB model 1.. and again the signal strenght and quality was same 100% and 98% respectively.. but then. this STB was also broken... and i changed my STB with STB model 2 but then.. the Signal Strenght became 97% and Signal Quality is 57-68% .. with the same wires and LNB.. but it was not the end... this STB also got dead.. it showed no power so i changed it again with STB model 2.. and this time again the singnal quality and strenght are same i.e. 97% and 57-68%.

So is this an issue with STB model 2??? does it shows less signal strenght and quality????


also... my 3rd STB (model 2) was best.. it was very fast and showed no hanging problem but the 4th STB (model 2) shows blue screen for some channels every half an hour.. is there a remeddy for it???

Well Signal quality not depends on STB, must be have problems in somewhere else.

but the wiring and stuff is same... i never touched that system... can it be like that... if STB model 2 always shows some less %age of signal.. bcoz i m not seeing any difference in picture quality

Well might be Dish disturb or moved slightly.

naaa.. even thats not the case.. bcoz its no rain or speedy winds in this season.. and also.. how can it be a co-incidence that signal quality is great with 2 STB model-1 and bad with 2 STB model-2??? I think model-2 has some defects in it... anyone else here with STB model -2??? can u tell me your signal quality and strenght??

Well signals only disturb once something happen with Dish, Cables or others. Even if you use cheap STB it will also show same signal. Might your Dish moved by someone.

my dish is fixed as before... if someone had moved it then it wont show signal strength to be 97% ..

and hey can u tell me the difference between signal quality and signal strength? ?

i am also getting signal strength 98% and signal quality 68%...but i am not getting the channel category list..please help..hey ladykiller, u getting the category list? should i do manual download?

Only important things for us is signal quality. In Dish Tv you need atleast 30% signal quality to watch a TV while in BIG TV Mj found that we can watch channels even 10% too!

You will get same picture quality at 50% and 100% too.

If your signal quality is lower that means signal is losing in your Cable not from Dish to Satellite.

okay... and signal strength means signal from satellite to dish????? pls clarify...

yup i am getting the category list... u can try using manual scan.. or manual download.. it will come automatically after 4-3 restarts
