MUMBAI: The global satellite communications services provider Satlink Communications has been selected by CNN (Cable News Network) to provide its broadcast contribution needs in Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
CNN is using Satlink’s turnaround and uplink services for transmitting content from its bureaus in Israel and the Palestinian Authority to the NSS-7 satellite for reception at CNN US headquarters.
“Satlink is proud to be working with one of the world’s most noted broadcast brands, CNN,” Satlink Communications CEO David Hochner said. “As we approach the local election cycles, Satlink is well prepared to be the provider of technical broadcast services of choice for all networks and broadcasters in the region.”
Satlink meets the international broadcaster’s needs for reporting from this part of the Middle East by creating a fibre backbone between CNN’s local bureaus and its teleport facilities outside of Jerusalem from where the content is uplinked.
