Actualy Private Channels are not showing much interest in DD Paltform. Why ?.

The cost ( I mean Annual Payment is Small as compared to Other private Networks),
But in the Starting Period ( DD Direct Plus) So many channels are Interested to Join the Network , ( I am remembering CNN and Ne Tv , These two channels are Shown for two days at Starting), DD Can force the FTA Channels to Join the Network.
They will take steps for the same otherwise DD will not get viewers. Because private parties coming in the field with attractive offers. Eg. Sun direct, their hardware Cost is Only 2000 R.S and offering One Year free Subscription.
Now they are ruling the South Indian DTH plat form. In South India People now Not showing much interest to buy DD Dth.

The Only way is Force the PVt Channels to join the network.The central Gov. can do this.

Several private TV channels are learnt to be in queue to join the direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting platform of Prasar Bharati — DD Direct Plus — but the pubcaster is citing “less transponder capacity” for refusing them entry, industry sources have said.

The subscriber base of DD Direct Plus is an estimated 7 million, which makes it an attractive visibility platform for private channels. The other two DTH platforms — Dish TV and TataSky — have a subscriber base of around 2.7 million and 1 million, respectively.

Officials of private TV channels claimed DD Direct Plus has capacity for over 75 TV channels, but currently offers only 39 channels. However, a DD Direct Plus spokesperson said the platform has capacity for just around 55 channels.

The DD Direct Plus platform has five transponders, and industry sources argued that around 15 channels can be accommodated on each transponder, thereby taking the total to 75 channels. But the DD Direct spokesperson said currently only five to six private channels can be added to the platform bouquet.

A technical team is working on enhancing the transponders’ capacity for DD Direct Plus, it is learnt. The pubcaster is expecting to offer 100 TV channels to its DTH subscribers soon. so wait & watch

All private channels who are not joining are not having enough money(Rs 25 lacs) to spare to give to Prasar Bharati to take their channel on DD direct plus platform,or they think it is wast of money.But the day Govt implements Rs 5 per channel scheme in DTH,where suscriber has to choose channel and pay only for them their will be no takers of many channels like SUB TV,Zee Cafe ,Zoom TV will have no choice but to become free to air mode or close down

I had mailed MI MARATHI, I had got reply long back, don't know progress after that about where's the matter stuck

Dear Sir,

Mi Marathi is available only on Dish TV (Owned by Zee Group) & TATA SKY (Channel No.834). Presently it is not available on DD DTH. We are trying to get the frequency on DD DTH and we will get it very soon.
