Bengali entertainment channel launched

KOLKATA: Star India Private Limited launched its first regional entertainment channel in Bengali, Star Jolsha, here on Thursday. It will provide an array of programmes – fiction, non-fiction, mythology, movies, reality shows.

Star India chief executive officer Uday Shankar said, “With Star Jolsha we plan to create a revolution in Bengali entertainment.”

J.C.Giri, regional channel head, Star India, said, “The channel will try to bring a new level of diversity to the world of entertainment.”

I know buddy, they are talking about Star Jolsha not Start Ananda.

The news  you posted says that first Bengali Reginol channel Star Jolsha; however they already have a bengali channel 'Star Ananda'

Star Ananda is 24-hr Bengali News channel which is a partnership between Star India Pvt Ltd and Ananda Bazar Patrika, West Bengal's leading Bengali newspaper. So Star Ananda definately belongs to Star.

Star Jolsha on the other hand is a Bengali GEC channel just like Zee Bangla, ETV Bangla and Aakash Bangla.

I am really happy that this ch has launched, but I definately do not expect it on Dish TV. It will of course be on TataSky. Big TV might add it as well..!
