BIG TV Dish antenna position orientation
Need azimuth and elevation to point ANY dish antenna for BIG TV. Also need the satellite information for BIG TV. You can find excellent help here but I dont have the satellite info http://www.dishpointer.com/
I want to use a DishTV antenna [it works] for Big TV until those guys show up to install. Its taking about 10+ days for them to show up. Those poor installers are working overtime daily for bigtv, so guess what you will get as days go by,..

Yes.. you can use your Dishtv dish..... if it is in working condition Big Grin

Just move your dish little towards your right assuming you are behind the dish and lift it a little upwards....... little tough but keep trying if u want to get used to it...... Also installing this will just give you the channels lists etc and you can just watch one channel for FREE .. and that is Gyandarshan....... Rest of the channels cant be watched until your activation is done by the techincian with his code ..

Well it will be useless for you. You can't watch channels untill your account is activated as MJ says only one channel will come on your screen, rest of only names.

Thank you all for your timely advice. Could you also please help with the satellite name info and if possible, the tech specs on the azimuth and elevation. I know it is there with someone in this group who would have the information.
Thanks again.

They are using MeaSat 3 to transmit their DTH service. Check their satellite information:

Thanks for the great inputs. The site shows shows encoding in MPEG2 whereas BigTV advertises MPEG4 as its default encoding. Wonder if the site has old info.

you will see the color change for MPEG 4 channels........ that is the only hint.. rest they show it as Mpeg4 .. but dont care about that....... Just see the difference in color.... it will be green for MPEG4 channels..

I wonder how you can watch Big tv channels with your MPEG2 receiver, while they are using MPEG 4 technology? I think we can't watch even Gyandarshan with our receiver.
