I would have given 9 easily (deducted 1 because there is no pack to get all the channels for existing customer and there is no max starter pack 4990 for people living in south india ) however after the conversation I had with CC for Kiran and there response, I deduct 1 point too.
So my rating is 8 of 10

Well that is a problem that no pack have covered all channels and I wish they will think about it even I am ready to pay 350 Rs as it would be perfect price for that.

Well, really some good and informative reviews put up by Mr.Dish & Mr.mj. Appreciate that. Even I am waiting to put my review, but I need to buy Big TV for that, and I cant do that until I sell off Dish TV..!!

Well I think South Starter pack covers all chs of St 1, St 2 and St 3 except Sony and Star Plus which I am sure would be added soon. Remaining chs can be taken as Ad-ons...!!

Hello every1,
Here’s my big review for big tv. First of all I wud like to start with a thanking note to all the members who have helped me out especially Mr. dish, and all the moderators and posting freaks.
So here it goes….after reading all the posts and comments in this site I immediately bought the big tv for its sheer quality. so I bought the kit on 30th aug. after which I did not knew that a work order no has to be obtained. The next day I have learnt about it and registered for a work order no. so it has been registered duly on 31st august. From here my journey starts. I was told that an ISP wud attend me with in 24hrs so kept waiting but no one turned so I again called them back on 2nd September and was told someone would attend me in the next 2 hrs but still no one turned up I again called up after the 2hr mark and again I was told that some one wud attend me in another 4 hrs but still no one turned up and I called again and I was told tht some would attend me for sure the next day…in this way the cycle continued for 6 days.
After which I went to the reliance web world (from where I purchased the GSK) and I jus created a scene in front of all the other customers after which a representative there cooled me and gave me the ISP head number. There after I followed tht fellow regularly for full 24 hrs and I got the call on 7th September from an ISP (mr. wahid). Believe me guys he’s the best ever installer tht u guys can meet if ur lucky. I was very much impressed by the quality of the work; it was a very very professional installation(i now get a signal strength of 98%). He started his work @ 4.45 pm and finished it by 6pm and it took around 15mins for my channels to activate via phone recharge.
I was really very impressed(a very neat and clean installation he even removed the papers the covers the remaining wire pieces from the floor and threw it in the dustbin) and after the completion of installation I gave him rs.200 jus as a token of appreciation. And minutes after he left a bad news again for me......at around 6.45pm the STB failed and I called up Mr. Wahid and told my problem (he was already into another installation by then) he again came back to my house @ 8.45pm and checked it and confirmed it as a STB failure and took the whole GSK and promised me a replacement the very next day by 11am (he asked me not to complain to the CC as thy wud definitely think it to be as the fault of the engineer and not as the fault of the STB, and further he was also seeking a promotion as the head and this complaint would reduce his chances..so I obliged and did not complain) but i could not get the replacment as there was no proper procedure for replacment and the people in the distribution centre were very incooperative. And for another two days I followed him and he said tht he was unable to get the replacement as his seniors were not cooperating.
The next day(i.e. yesterday 10th September) wahid called me and asked me to complain to the CC as he was unable to get the STB from his seniors. After obtaining the complaint no I with wahid directly went to the distribution centre and produced the complaint no. then he promised to give me a replacement by the next day. But I got the replacement the same day evening and mr. wahid called me up @ 11.30pm and told dat he was coming. as said he duly came up in tht hour of night installed it and updated the software thn called the CC told his ID no. and the new STB no and then I could back all the channels in next 3 mins.
So at last my waiting has paid back and now I am enjoying the superb quality of the big TV…will come back again and write regarding the quality and all other things in my next review.

Hi Everyone,

I am from Bangalore. I have listed below my experience with Big tv.

29th Aug : Purchased Set Top Box and get starter kit for 1990/- from cunningham road, Bangalore.
29th Aug to 8th Sep ( 10 days) : Called up CC a dozen of times and registered 2 complaints, but of no use.
8th Sep : Sent PM to Mr.Dish for help.
9th Sep ( 4 PM ) : Got a call from installation team coz of Mr.Dish's involvement.
9th Sep ( 6 PM ) : installation team took 2 hrs to install....and connection was activated within 2 minutes

Ratings for each segment :

BIG TV CC : 1 ( Out Of 10 ): CC does not know anything and are not trained well...They give false promises, sorry's and ofcourse pretend that they are doing something abt our problem

BIG TV Video Quality : 10 ( Out Of 10 ) : Mind blowing DVD clarity..I have 29"' Onida Oxygen KY Thunder TV...It cant get better than this....value for money!!!!!

BIG TV Audio Quality : 8 ( Out Of 10 ) : CD type Sound quality is good...but few channels have varying volume, the "Hindi" audio is very Low and is of less quality ( CN, Pogo , Disney )....Also other multi language options like "tamil" is not available in CN...Navigating to change the multi audio is pathetic, there must have been only one button to change between audios...

BIG TV EPG : 7 ( Out Of 10 ) : Good...but need to exercise on adding schedule for few more ( which might be done in future) and also the discription of few programs is vague ( check it out )..

BIG TV Remote : 5 ( Out Of 10 ) : Ok....the channel change button must have been the volume change buttons and vice versa coz the other older remotes which i had was of that kind....Also there should have been single button to handle multi audio and also favourites

BIG TV STB : 2 ( Out Of 10 ) : Pathetic....the STB only looks good from outside...It is very slow and hangs up at certain times....response to remote is very slow...GUI display is very slow and horrible...There should have been better LEDs....I hope it gets better with software upgrade...BIG TV logo is very annoying....channel change is very slow and the blank screen is really very irritating...I hope they have better GUI in the next software upgradation...

Overall : 7 ( Out Of 10 )....The value for money is pretty high in BIG TV has compared to other DTH in south india, ofcourse we have to compromise for late installation but its work it...and also BIG TV will achive 10/ 10 rating if it provides good CC, ISP and ofcourse good software upgrade.....

i just buy Big TV in the Evening from Reliance Web World...The Dealer assures that the installion will be in 24 hours...Lets see how much time taken..

i take 2990 package which has 1 year subsciption... i want to know how much channels i get....
