the videos you have recorded are earlier than software update or you have recorded them after software update....????

if you recorded them earlier... and as you mentioned disk space used halved....

Ya its for sure that such upgrades regarding compression not going to affect quaily of saved data. That upgraded software must be working like first it is compressing data to high extent & then upscaling only necessory inputs so to achieve more space for storage.

hmm...i get ur point. but thats the thing, i dont have to worry about updating my softwares and bugs! i had to do that when i had big tv. with ts, everything's so flawless.

Is the software of TS+ upgraded recently? If yes then I am sure that additional storage time is due to that. Higher compression & upscaling capabilities can be achieved to store data even without interfering with hardware. As you guys are saying that they have 90 mins of recording capacity but were not using as of now from years.. that doesnt make any sense!

if you have video which are recorded earlier than software update.... then those videos can not be compressed by new software... as they were recorded earlier....

if despite having those videos.... your used disk space halved... its certain that the capacity was already more.... as Jignesh said....
