Combination of Sats to receive atmost no. of free channels
I'm in idea to go for fta dish and together i want to cover atmost number of channels from Insat 4B, NSS6, Insat 2E/4A, Asiasat 3s etc.. Right now i have a 60cm dish-receiver meant for DD D+. So what all it needs (extra dish, its size, lnbs, its type, switches etc) further to meet the above requirement. ppl already enjoying with such setup pl guide.

Get a six feet c-band dish, and a few c-band lnbfs, you get approximately about 300-400 channels depencing on your luck and location, Check out this post, http://www.saveondish.com/forum/channels...#pid152383 |

But is there any standard method for dish alignment and tunning. since few ppl say satellite meters are really waste for the job. (and what dishmen in my location do is feed a channel frequency already to the receiver and take it to the roof top, then connect it to the lnb and move the dish to check the singal strength of that particular channel in the receiver. hectic!) |

But the receiver is not allowing to feed the frequency details using menu > add new program. on pressing ok, prompts a msg 'no program available' and doesnt saves the freq details. what exactly it need to be done?

RE: Combination of Sats to receive atmost no. of free channels
ok, got it now. but pl tell the minimum dish size required for asiasat3s and insat2e. as i have 2 60cm dishes, i want to make use of them and have no plan to go for a 6ft dish now. let me experiment with this for sometime. few say the signal strength of asiasat3s on 60cm will be low. soo wats min. dish sz for above sats.

RE: Combination of Sats to receive atmost no. of free channels
Ok since you don't own a dth right now, You will be viewing free channels only, 60 cms is defnitely small for AS-3 ku-band and even ABs-1 ku-band, They are all in 38-40dbw range, Theres nothing on INSAT-2E in ku-band, You can get a few MANA-TV channels on Insat-3b ie all
Try Insat-4b , I mean the DD-DIrect+ and edusat and Insat-3CR,and ABS-1, you can direct one dish to 93.5 , DD-Direct+, and another to 74 degree east, one dish is enough for 74 & 75 , Please note the Edusat channels wont come in an autoscan, since they have symbol rates less than 2000, Most receivers are designed to scan from 2000 up only Doing the work one likes makes him happy, Liking the work one does can also give him great happiness |
