RE: Component output?
Hi to all

Well Dish, u r absolutely correct. HBO and Star Movies are Dolby. And BIGTV Cinema channel of Movie name: CASH is also in Dolby. I have connected my LCD TV with STB's component output by a quality component cable(it costs Rs. 550/-) Initially I didn't found any difference between composite and component sources when watching regular channels.But I found the difference when I am watching some BIGTV's cinema channels like GOAL, CASH, DIL DOST ETC., SPEED. The picture quality is appearing like we are watching HD DVD picture. its amazing. The audio is also good when compared to TS.

Thanks Sree.

now we have got the assured information the Component ports are working and as I have mentioned we have to use quality component cable to get the best output Smile

I am a DTH expert.That doesnt mean that I would endorse that DTH and hide true cons about it

RE: Component output?
I am using Big TV through Component on a 32" Samsung Series 4. Originally the installer connected Composite and the quality was just OK. Upgrading to component gave me better colors and overall much better quality.

For true DVD quality, you need component since composite cannot carry progressive signals, and in effect has only half the signals carried by component cables.

BTW, there is no issues with quality if you connect multiple TVs using component and composite unlike RF splitters, which splits the signals. The signal will be affected by the length of the cable and the quality of the source

{Edited out my mention about Optical Out. The STB has no Optical out}

For best quality, use the Component cables for video and optical out (Which I think the STB has) for audio.

Thanks for your information and now people who have LCD tv can get basic idea about it.Smile
