RE: Component output?
Hi all, Thanks for all your inputs and suggestions.

"Monster" component cables are of one of high quality products and offer superior quality video and typically cost about Rs.1500 and above.

yes there are connection selector are available in the market in which you could take 3 to 4 inputs with one output. Even they come with remote also. You could get for HDMI, Svideo, Compoment, DVI.

I suggest to go with the Chinese one as they are cheaper and work very well

Hi

First I am not talking about Chinese cable, becuse they are not good. Go with the branded one only, I just referred the signal selector only
Second, by Remote I meant, I have seen the signal selectors which comes with remote control also, so you dont have to go to the Selector itself to switch the signal.

You said that 2 channels are giving Dolby Audio. Which are those channels? How can we know that it is Dolby?
As per my knowledge yet very few Indian channels transmit in Full stereo, never hoped for Dolby Sound that sooner (unless those channels are MOD channels from provider)

Well MOD chanenls already have but one of BIG TV users tested with home theater and found HBO and Star Movies in Dolby.
Thanks Dish for confirmation. BIG TV is really 'big' Smile

Any image whether still or moving is made of mixing three colors : Red, Green, Blue(RGB).

In composite(AV) there is one cable for video and two other cable for L and R Audios.
So the whole video signal is carried in one Video cable of Composite.

In Component, there are three cables for Video Signal which carries three signals of a image- Red, Green and Blue(thats why the connectors are in red , green and blue color code)
The advantage of Component is that it provides more bandwidth to carry video signal (unlike Composite where there is only one cable for Video) by carrying Red, Green, Blue signal seperately. This results in much better video quality then Composite.

If you connect only any one color cable of compoent to the TV, you will get the video in only that color. Big Grin

Well Mr.alamodein, this was a very informative post. By the way, I still have one doubt. In component video, you are saying that there are 3 cables for Video. So what about audio..? Is it the same L & R..?? If so, then there are 5 cables for Composite Video, right..??Smile

Some dreams do come true and one of my major dreams is to see most of the International chs in India . . .

Component Video : 3 Connectors (Green, Blue & Red)
Composite Video: 1 Connector (Yellow)
Stereo Audio: 2 Connectors (White & Red)

A total of 5 cables for Component Video with Audio and a total of 3 cables for Composite Video with Audio.

RE: Component output?
Can anyone please tell me if I connect normal Yellow, White & Red cables (Used for composite Video & Audio) to Component input, will that affect video quality?
