DishTV/Tatasky is not accepted in South India
It is proven from the data that neither DishTV nor Tatasky is able to catch up the expectations of the South Indian Viewers. In just 5-6 months SUN Direct DTH is able to Capture 10 lakh customers only in 4 Southern States i.e. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
Mainly b'cos of their tailored made packages and competitive package pricing to reach the expectation of South Indian Viewer. Now they're one step ahead by offering 14 more optional packages at low rates compared to their peers Tatasky and Dish TV. There is a lesson to be learnt by Both DishTV and Tatasky. Just making fake ads like Free STB, 183 Channels or blah blah blah or adding useless channels just to show the channels count is not the way to reach the users. Instead they need to understand the customer needs and work on it. Now SUN is working towards advance their footprint into other parts of india in a big way. |

RE: DishTV/Tatasky is not accepted in South India
I totally wont agree with you.........
But on thing i will agree with you is that Sun DTH is customer base is higher than dish TV and TS but the sundirect customers base are mainly in accepted in towns and rural areas........In cities Dish TV - TS - Sundirect are equally competing. Sun direct is able to capture in town and rural areas because the package cost regional channels just for Rs.75 only but where as in dish tv and TS they cost is bit more and thats the reason in towns and rural areas you can find more customers towards sun direct......In rural areas too those people who can afford to pay more they buy TS or Dish but that is negligible..... I am residing in alwarthirunagar - chennai......i could find only TS dish or Dish TV mainly not Sundirect dish where as in my office which is 8 story building from the terrace when i look on to next residential complex i could see 22-24 TS dishes, 8-10 Dish TV dishes where as Sundirect i could find only 2. Sun direct has got a strong customer base in towns and rural areas but their key problem will start after one year when the customers starts to renew their connections........ My cousin is a cable operator in a town near by salem in Tamilnadu. I have witnessed myself that face a huge problem in collecting the money from the customers towards cable rent as the people would say there is no money can you please come and collect next week .........this things happend frequently......those customers i dont think will recharge with sundirect properly or regularly after free subscription comes to an end after 1 year.......In the same area my cousin is Charging Rs.100 per house for cable rent where in the customers gets all the tamil channels, sports channels, english movie channels, popular news channels, popular hindi channels..... The real picture of customer renewal with respect to sundirect. anyway lets wait and watch.......... The Ferrari is a dream - people dream of owning this special vehicle and for most people it will remain a dream apart from for those lucky few

RE: DishTV/Tatasky is not accepted in South India
I don't agree with this even in south india doth Sun direct and dishtv has done well but definitely sun direct has more reach their because of more number of regional channels or almost all south channels are available on south
