File renaming problem ! Please Help.....

When I want to rename a file,then the following message is shown in a dialog box:

If You change a file name extension,the file may become unusable.Are You sure want to change it ? Yes OR No

If I choose Yes, the file appearance is changed and doesn't open in double click.It opens when I do right click on file and open with in any program.
I also tried to change the properties to open with a program in a double click;but the properties box doesn't show the option"always open with".

This problem occurs in every type of files such as;video file,mp3 file,jpeg file,etc.
But this problem doesn't occur when I want to rename a folder.
Whats the problem ?

Hey , While Renaming dont change or delete the extension ...

Better do one thing ...

Go to Tools Menu in Explorer Window
Choose Folder options
Then under View Category...
Then Check the Option in Image and Click Ok

Now u can rename freely....
No Problems with extesions Now...

Windows Will Hide all Extensions ...
U see only File names ...
