i think ddd+ officials should change their format from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4. then they can add many more channels without increasing any transponder

Then all the half crore receiver need to be changed. And price of MPEG4 receiver will be more than double of existing MPEG2 receiver.

With MPEG-2 format also, if utilised properly, DDD+ can telecast atleast 15 channels per TP, so they can broadcast 75 channels on their platform.
BTW they are not fully using existing 50 channels capacity. Still many DD channels are repeated as 'test' channels. SVK... |
