Hi All,
![]() Well as we all know that iPhone had launched in India yesterday. :jump:The 'Jesus Phone' as called by fans in the USA failed to create the hype that it created when it launched in the 29th of June last year in the US and Canada. ![]() ![]() :DWell as for me, I personally feel that buying the iPhone is not the most sensible decision as of now. :thumbsup:The first obstruction is of course the price.(Rs.31,000 for 8GB model & Rs.36,100 for the 16GB model). :firing:There are several other smart phones in the market which are available at much lower prices and has more features than the iPhone. I did not buy the iPhone due to the following draw-backs : ![]() ![]() - No Delivery Reports received for SMSs sent. - No SMS Forwarding. - No MMS. - No Video Recording. - No option to Edit, Cut, Copy or Paste word documents. - No built-in Game Support. - No Instant Messaging Applications. - No Voice Dialing option. - No Flash in Camera. - No Digital Zoom in Camera. - No FM Radio. - No option to set up iPhone as a Modem to be used with computers. - No External Slots to expand Internal Memory. - No A2DP Support. - No Windows Media Support. - No way to change the Battery yourself. Battery can be changed only from Apple. - No Bluetooth Support for 3rd party Devices. Bluetooth can be used only with Apple head-sets. - No 3G Support yet present in India. Well and last but not the least, the worst drawback is that the iPhone is not interoperable between "agreed" networks, which means that if you have an iPhone with Vodafone connection, and if you decide to cancel the Vodafone connection, you cannot change it to Airtel and vice-versa. ![]() ![]() ![]() In the United States, Apple has an exclusive contract with AT&T network which means that only AT&T can officialy offer iPhone. So users cant change to other networks, which is understandable. In India, however, Apple has no such exclusive agreements since 2 networks have lauched it. So the iPhone should be interoperable between these 2 carriers atleast...!! But thats not the case.Anyways, friends, if any one of you have purchased the smart phone, then please share your experiences, be it good or bad over here. ![]() And if you have not purchased it, then feel free to tell why...!! ![]() Also do take part in the poll...!!Thanks ! arshad Wrote:I will Never buy Apple iPhone in India because of his cost(36,000) Yes same here too. I feel the price is too much and also several features are missing which are there in the very basic phones. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I would rather consider an HTC Touch or a Nokia N96 or rather Samsung Touch Wiz or an LG Viewty...!! But cant choose the best between the 4...!!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
