ICL fails to match up to IPL's TV ratings
MUMBAI: The report card for the ongoing Indian Cricket League (ICL) for its debut week is out. According to a Map ratings, ICL has performed dismally
, garnering a measly average 0.2-0.4 TVR across both channels, Zee Sports and Ten Sports in the all markets C&S 4+group. Compared to the debut ratings of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the difference is huge. IPL managed an average 4-5 TVR while even the recent India-Australia test series managed to beat ICL ratings with a 0.5-0.7 TVR. If one compares the data with ICL’s first season last year the ratings seem similar, with no real increase in ratings in the second season. ICL’s first season opened with 0.36 TVR on Ten Sports and 0.19 TVR on Zee Sports. However, Zee Sports CEO Himanshu Mody dismissed the ratings, terming them incorrect. He claimed that the ratings were above the 1 TVR mark. In an SMS sent to ET, he said: “The information is incorrect. In the CS 15 + TG, Zee Sports got a rating of 0.8 TVR and Ten Sports a TVR of 0.5.” The ICL official spokesperson said: “We are awaiting TAM’s ratings, which is the official ratings body. We do not want to comment on aMap’s ratings. We believe that the ratings are lot higher.” On the debut day, ICL recorded 0.34 TVR on Ten Sports and 0.22 TVR on Zee Sports. On day two, ratings took a beating with Ten Sports managing a 0.18 TVR while Zee Sports recording a 0.20 TVR. The highest rating recorded on Ten sports was 0.39 TVR, and 0.46 ratings on Zee Sports. Lodestar Universal COO Nandini Dias said: “Currently, ratings have gone down across channels. Ratings a year back were almost 100% higher.” http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News...600560.cms The Ferrari is a dream - people dream of owning this special vehicle and for most people it will remain a dream apart from for those lucky few
