Sri Lanka's first educational channel "Learn Tv" is now added on Dialog TV. Since Learn TV is added today, it means that it may not be part of the 7 exclusive channels that are to be launched on Dialog TV on every week.

This leaves all us to wondering what is the next channel on Dialog TV.

I think it would be another channel which is launched outside India.

This is a Sri Lankan local channel launched on Dialog Tv. It is a educational channel.

Learn TV is free till 30th September to all package holders. After that there will be a charge to all except for 1949/= pkg.....

They will charge Rs.100/= (In Indian Rs. 40/=) per month for this channel.

This channel is mainly useful for Sri Lankan OL students. The lessons are mainly in Sinhalese (exceplt English lessons of course). So this will be useless for non-Sri Lankan viewers.

Also it is somewhat unfair that this channel will have to be paid for seperately, but I am sure many families will subscribe to this channel for their childrens' benefit. This is a good initiative from the Ministry of Education.

Now that we are pretty sure that Learn TV is not one of the new 7 channels (whew...), lets guess the next four to come. Fox FX is definitely on the list. Channel NewsAsia was promised last year so it may also be added. Then the Universal Channel and Sci Fi channel may also be added as they belong to the NBC Universal group, which also owns KidsCo. The latter two are very worthy channels as they broadcast good entertainment with less advertisements than their competitor STAR World. Then there is also AXN Beyond which is in demand by many viewers. Add to that a variety of channels which Sri Lankan viewers want to see. It is difficult to guess the remaining new channels (except FX), so we will just have to wait and see.

By the way, Fox Crime and FX will be Asian versions with less commercials, not the new Indian feeds.

According to the Sunday Observer news paper, this week addition of channel is Learn TV.

This channel is available FOC until 30th September 2009.
