MPEG4 signal of TATA SKY PLUS (+) in Middle East
I just bought TS+. As per service person who istalled here in chennai, this PVR (MPEG4) will not get signal in other areas than major cities in INDIA, since it is not launched in ALL over INDIA.

He said that TATA SKY ordinary (MPEG2) will work in Middle East country. But only this TS+ will not work.

Is any body using TATA SKY PLUS (+)., and receiving signal in Middle East,, without disturbance. Because i want take it to DOHA,Qatar. Please reply

RE: MPEG4 signal of TATA SKY PLUS (+) in Middle East
Its misconception by many people that for TATASKY+ signals are coming in MPEG4. TATASKY+ is only PVR service added on original service, and the signals received by both are same (TATASKY doesn't have TP's then how could they broadcast same channels in 2 formats?)
TATASKY+ if registered properly & paid for PVR service, could work well anywhere.

Yes, Sandy is right.
The only thing which is different in Tata Sky and Tata SKy+ is the STB (receiver).
Signals are the same, satellites are the same.
You can get Tata Sky in middle east and also tata sky +, all dish settings are the same.
You must understand that satellites emit these signals from space and Tata cannot control whether or not to have signal in minor Indian cities, if the footprint of the satellite reaches location X anyone can watch Tata Sky in location X as long as they have a receiver.

Hope I helped

Thank u for very much. please clarify by doubt below.
TS+ has two cables from LNB to PVR, is this kind of LNB (NOTE it is not splitter having one input and 2 or 4 output.) is availble every where, like in gulf countries.
the main LNB connected to dish is having two outputs straight away.
Because, the person who installed, used conventional LNB with one put for tuning, while i asked him he said, since it will get more signal strength, it is easier to tune with it and then after tuning, he fixed the LNB with two outputs specially made for TS+. Do we loose signal strength if we use two output LNB.
It is must for TS+ PVR, that it has to be connected with two cables from LNB (DISH) to PVR.
Regards,
Venkat.

LNB's with 2 (dual), 4 (quad) and even 8 outputs are available in Gulf countries every where, so no need to worry about it.
Also there is no signal loss using such multi-out LNB's as each LNB's are different, just they are mounted on same dish, but they all operate seperately.
TATASKY+ needs atleast 2 cables to allow recording 2 channels at same time.

RE: MPEG4 signal of TATA SKY PLUS (+) in Middle East
We can't get all the channels. But we can get some channels clearly if we use KU band LNB and 240cm dish. We have to buy our own personal dish and LNB from a local shop. To set the dish to the Insat 4A satellite, visit the following site:- http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/tatasky.html

I hope this info is helpful to you.

It should be C-band LNB and not KU band LNB
