one-lakh DTH customers a month: Bharti
Buoyed by a strong response to its Direct-to-Home venture, Bharti Group on Tuesday said it will expand in as many cities as possible this year to catch up with leaders like Dish TV and Tata Sky. "We are adding 4,000 customers a day and over a lakh customers a month ... I am really delighted. This is one of the best industry experience for me with the kind of response we are getting from the customers," Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal told PTI on the sidelines of the GSMA Mobile World Congress here. He said Airtel's 'Digital TV', will be targeting all the 92 cities where Bharti has a presence with fixed line telephony and expand beyond them in order to catch up with competition. Since its launch last year, Airtel's Digital TV expanded in 92 different cities. The DTH market is currently led by Dish TV and TataSky, while Sun Direct and Big TV are also emerging as strong players.
