PCB to use ICL card to pressurise BCCI
Pakistan Cricket Board will use all its cards including its stance on the unofficial Indian Cricket League to pressurise the BCCI to send its team for the Test tour early next year.
Information gathered by PTI confirmed that the statement by former captain Javed Miandad that there was pressure on the PCB to lift the ban on ICL players was designed to put pressure on the Indian board which is yet to confirm the tour to Pakistan. A top source said PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt had spoken to Miandad about it as the former captain was now also director-general in the board. Miandad explained to Butt that Pakistan needed to put pressure on Indians to undertake the Test tour and that his statement on ICL was part of this strategy, the source said. Miandad told Butt he should tell the Indian officials very clearly that Pakistan has been blindly supporting BCCI on the ICL and other issues and if they also refuse to tour Pakistan then the PCB would have to look at other avenues to raise revenues, the source added. Miandad felt even England and Sri Lanka were allowing their ICL signees to play domestic cricket and the ICC was also not clear on its policy on the ICL, and so BCCI should now support Pakistan by making the Test tour and set an example for other countries as well. The source said Pakistan could adopt the strategy of conveying to the Indian board that the ICL was very keen on sending its team to Pakistan to help out Pakistan cricket at a time when no foreign team was willing to tour Pakistan for security reasons. http://cricket.ndtv.com/cricket/ndtvcric...&site=ndtv "Love all, trust a few."SOD Forum New Rules |

RE: PCB to use ICL card to pressurise BCCI
I don't think BCCI will come under pressure in any circumstances from PCB. PCB needs BCCI's help, not the BCCI need PCB's help.
