Pix to produce original English movies in India

NEW DELHI: Pix, the English movie channel from the Sony stable, will be producing original English movies in India.

Says Pix business head Sunder Aaron, “Late in the 80s, HBO began producing HBO Original Series which turned the tables for the channel. Driving the idea from there, we are planning to produce original English films in India, which are neither big budget nor small. With the production of movies, we will be taking Pix to the next level.”

Currently the channel is in talks with several directors to get the right script.

“If we are able to meet all pre-production requirements, then we might produce the movie within six months,” added Aaron.

Pix's first priority will be to produce the films. "But at the same time we are open to the idea of commissioned films," Aaron said.
