Yes it happens when Software loading that channel itself so you not need to scan the channel.

Oh yah, thats why it took a bit long time for the STB to load last night. Now I know it was actually updating the software...!!

Yes after new channel addition software automatically take the channel in 2-3 hours if you not do scan yourself.
