RF Out signal quality is horrible

I just connected a second TV via RF Out using a standard RG6 cable and was horrified to see the poor quality.

1. Are there some settings to configure to use RF Out?
2. Is there a limit on length between RF Out and TV?

Your help is appreciated.

Well RF quality of Big TV is really horrible. I would suggest to use Compostie(AV) only.

I used the RF cable supplied with Dish TV to connect Big TV, the quality was very bad.
I thought it was cable issue, so I bought a new branded best quality RF cable worth Rs 175( 1 meter), it also has the same quality pciture

That means it is not the problem with the RF cable

Ans: There is no configuration in STB
2. Is there a limit on length between RF Out and TV?
Ans: its not the issue with the cable length as I have checked with cable of one meter lenth

Your RF out may be interferring with some other source or terrestial DD signal, so quality may be bad. Try changing RF output channel. But yes, quality of RF is always lower compared to Component/Composite Video

There should be some settings, but no idea about menus in BIG TV settings (May be DISH can help on it )

Yes, long cable can cause loss & degrade quality

Thank you. I guess this means, those with old TV having only RF In are out of luck. They would have to upgrade their TV!

By the way, what is the use of this channel modulation in the settings menu? I thought this could be related to using RF connection.

I am sure that Channel modulation is not related to RF. iIt has something to do with the LNB settings and signal settings of the sateitte

The use of Channel Modulation in the STB is to set the frequency of the RF input to the TV which results in its quality.

RF quality is not bad of Big TV.. in my case.. it is as good as Composite AV ... the channel modulation is used to set the position of the channel in the TV so that u can select... the best option would be 21 or 69 ... if u are using STB model 2 with an old TV then you will have to remove the RF cable slightly from ur TV.. so that it is half inserted.. to get full quality
