Ten Sports to share Sri Lanka-India ODI feed with DD

MUMBAI: Ten Sports, the official broadcaster of the India-Sri Lanka cricket series, has agreed to share the live feed of the remaining two one-day international (ODI) cricket matches between the two nations with pubcaster Doordarshan.

As per the law, private broadcasters are bound to share feed with DD for important sports events involving Indian teams.

Ten Sports has given the undertaking to the bench of Justice Manmohan Sarin and Justice Veena Birbal of Delhi High Court.

The court has also allowed DD to book advertisements for the remaining ODI matches. DD, however, has to give three fourth of the revenue generated from these advertisements to Ten Sports.

The new development follows the Delhi High Court's show-cause notice on Monday to Ten Sports for not sharing the ODI feed in alleged violation on the government's notification on content sharing with Prasar Bharati. This was in response to a petition filed by a cricket buff Ravi Dev Gupta seeking direction to Prasar Bharati to telecast the remaining two matches of the current ODI series.

The court also got irked with the Centre for its delay in issuance of notice to Ten Sports for sharing the feed.

At present Fourth match between India snd Srilanka is also coming live on dd national alongside Ten sports. So fifth Match between India snd Srilanka wiil also come live on dd national alongside Ten sports.
