Why Airtel DTH ?

While browsing this forum lately I have noticed that whenever somebody asks for a suggestion about buying new DTH connection ADTV is hugely recommended by many users...

wherein I have tried searching for the packages and the plan they have but i find their website as not very user friendly ..

let me tell u all on what do I need .....I plan to buy a new DTH connection and ready to pay Rs 4000/- at the max.

Requirements:-
12 months free subscription + Installation + Hardware

A package very similar to TS Super Saver Package + Life style Gold Pack...

I can live without sports channel + No requirement of South or any regional channel for that matter....

It may be bit too much that I might be asking for ...but TS offered its Grand festive offered all however i missed that........

But what could be the possibility now .. it can be from any from any DTH provider as long as they meet my needs

yes there are offers for you........

there is Platinum package Rs.3500 [includes all sports channels,movies,regional etc.,] but it is 6 month free.....

another offer is 1 year free[gold plus] it costs Rs.2600 in which you can get discovery,nat geo,fox history & many more but no sports channels........if you want neo subscription have a minimum balance of Rs.100 and take the neo+ topup........one more thing s that neo+ topup can be taken for 1 month also.:party2::party2:....if you want setmax channel it is just Rs.99 for 5 months......only zee/ten sports have to be taken for 6 months if you want espn,star sports,star cricket u have to take the espn top up just @ Rs.45 only/month:party1:

After 3 months subscribe to Economy Pack - 185+tax (Rs. 204) ..... 9*204=1836

Total Value=2500+1836.... 4336....

A marginal over your budget.... but then you will be paying monthly...

thanks for the suggestion however based on my package requirement...the monthly package that suits me best is Mega + Cine plus (Rs 235+ Rs 35= Rs 270 monthly ) after tax Rs 302

then it would mean Gold package Rs 2500- 3 months free
After 3 months subscribe to Mega + Cine plus Pack - 270+tax (Rs. 302) ..... 9*302=2718

Total = 2500+2718=5218

which is not happening at all...

if I was to buy TS for Rs 1999 I get 1 month Super Saver pack

after 1 month i go for annual super Saver pack Rs 2750+ annual life style gold pack of Rs 450 = Rs 3200

Total = 1999 + 3200 =5199
which is just abt the same as for airtel dth morever with TS i get 13 months subscribtion this ways


I still ask the same question which I asked when I started the thread ........Why Airtel DTH ?

If you spending that much amount then BIG TV would be good option as they provide all channels for 1 years free which cost you Rs 5490. You may also check Sun DTH pack to as their base pack is good too with Fox Channels.

agree with dish. big tv has better packages, and pic quality (as everyone already knows) is better. plus with stb2 the hanging problem has been solved as well!

and just looking at your requirements, this is something u must keep in mind:
no matter what dth you take sports channels are expensive! so getting ALL sports channels means doling out substantial amounts. be prepared for that. personally speaking, espn star sports, alongwith set max and DD national should suffice all those needs. also, u could always go for a top up whenever u feel the need. i really dont know why channels like neo and star cricket were launched in the first place! apart from the rare (and its getting increasingly rarer) live cricket, there's nothing much on these channels!

In tata sky it will cost you 5199+45 (you forgot to add LS for 1 month) ... for 13 months - 5245... (thats too when you spend all money now)....

in Airtel... you get it for Rs. 5218 for 12 months (then you get all sports channels worth 105 p.m. for 3 months... so the overall value becomes same...

Also if you buy platinim pack for 3500... your total cost will be 3500+(6*302)=5312 and you will get all sports channels for next 6 months...

I wont suggest you to go for any other DTH other than Tata Sky or Airtel...

Agree, they are bit costlier, but other have their own problems.... Imagine you saved 500 for a year... and have to call CC every fortnight (and spent those 500 on calling) ....
