RE: Write your DishTV review here
now in dish tv only sun and sun news from the sun network are available ,
that too free from DD DTH platform. others are not available .already we waited for a very long but no use .I think Dish Tv may not able
to telecaste sun network in futre and also no intrest to telecast ..

better , if we want Sun net work , we should say good bye to dish Tv and go for either TATA SKY or SUN DIRECT ..they are now concentrating the south indian people not like DISH Tv

RE: Write your DishTV review here
As per my experience with DishTV if you are from northern side it will be o.k. But if you are from southern part of india it will be very poor and so better to go with southern DTH providers..like Sundirect..

Obviously you can get more number of channels related to your region with decent price.

And worst cutomercare i have ever seen before like DIsh TV..

RE: Write your DishTV review here
Can anybody understand their refund system?

We picked up a Dish-TV for the office and after a few months we realised that the subscription rate was very heavy. So we opted to scale down to the "free-to-air" programmes only, and discovered that

despite their taking an advance for 5 years and so-called "returnable" antenna, we did not get anything "free".

Sure, technically satellite DTH is superior to cable, but at what cost? And more than that, the attitude issue - you HAVE to subscribe otherwise we will cut off your free to air also - is not workable.

We put this down to learning curve, and will take them up in the future when we have time. interim, I understand that TRAI is placing some instructions and guidelines on this subject.

I would suggest that people read the offer document AND the terms and conditions very carefully before paying for a new connection. I am waiting for them to come out with a new scheme to teach them what a consumer is, too.

RE: Write your DishTV review here
Good
1. Picture quality is much better than my local cable wallah.
2. I get to watch all sports channels and thus on weekends can catch up on all the football action from the european leagues
Bad
1. They dont have local / regional channels viz Delhi Aajtak, MH1 Shradha, MH1 News, et al
2. They dont have quality international channels viz Fox News, Bloomberg, et al

RE: Write your DishTV review here
I bought my Dishtv on 11 May 2005. As I am not satisfied with my Cable I got the dish for 3990/-

To be frank I faced a lot of problem with ETV. It was with poor quality. I have registered many complaints with dishtv. Till now I feel the complaint is untouched.
Now a days the quality in picture is degraded its of poor quality. You can find VCD quality not DVD quality picture in motion.
Dishtv has language zones. I dont know why I have to pay for all Sun chanels. This is one point I really hate and oppose of new pricing.
Coming, to online renewal its very good.

RE: Write your DishTV review here
My Experience with Dish TV is very bad and they are not customer oriented and and with out any prior information have cut the sun news and sun channel telling that I am existing customer and have to pay Rs. 50 per month to get all the sun channels. but I am interested only sun news and sun TV
In this connection I have raised various questions, but none of the
questions were answered.
I am a fresh customer and taken connection only during Sep 2007 with a
assurance that I will be getting all the channels. I have basically taken Tamil
& Malayalam as language. The understanding before taking the connection
is I wanted SUN/ K TV/ SUN News in tamil and SUN TV and SUN News were
already being tele-casted and KTV will be added shortly. I was also
told that for the first five months I will be placed under maxi scheme
with all the channels and later at the time of renewal I have to
choose the scheme I want.

This means I should continue to get SUN Channel with out insisting for
any additional money.

I could observe from the way Dish TV treat their customer, I afraid many
customer will drift from Dish TV in the future.

They may have so many difference between SUN TV(going to be future DTH provider) and that should not be passed on to their customer.

As a customer and TV Viewer, I cannot view all the channels telecasted
by them and at the most I may interested in viewing 15 to 20 channels
maximum. They are telling they have given Kairali insttead of jaya (since Jaya TV has demanded money) Also I am not viewing Kairali TV and I would
rather prefer to view Jaya TV than Kairali as I do not know malayalam.

I am also not interested in all the SUN channels like sun telegu,
malayalam and kannada.

I understand that since SUN and Jaya are demanding money, you have
removed those channels from the list. But this is not fair on a big
corporate like them and in the near future they have face a stiffer
competition from other providers such as Reliance, SUN, Bharati and Air tel enters in the market.
They have advantage right now as they have good customer base and they have
to retain their base to be more competitive. .

Secondly, during 31, Marchl 2007, it was decided by TDSAT and Tata Sky
has dropped 13 channels from ZEE (yours).

Even now Tata Sky is facing the same problem as of Dish TV and they have
not hiked the rate and still SUN, jaya are telecasted by them.

In the above circumstances if some one asks for the opinion, I would
rather blindly say to go with Tata sky or wait till SUN and other
comes up with DTH, as Dish TV may most likely demand Rs 50 or even Rs
100/= from next month onwards telling the sun is not applicable to
existing customers, because by then they would have become their
existing customer.

TRAI has also categorically has said that they are going to fix the
rates for the DTH also shortly and further has provided

"The new regulation called 'Quality of Service and Redressal of
Grievances Regulation, 2007,' which will come into force from December
1, aim to protect the DTH subscribers' welfare against the cable
operators that charges their clients on the behalf of several schemes
and plans without giving them prior information.

The new regulation also prohibits changing the running scheme
frequently. The operators will have to continue the scheme for at
least six-month periods and also have to inform their customers well
before making changes, including increasing subscription charges.
However, the operators are at liberty to reduce the subscription
charges at any time.

The TRAI has also empowered the subscribers with the right to opt out
of a particular package for any other package at any time."

I would like to finally give up with Dish TV as they are not at all responding to the questions asked for and wrote to them to refund the amount and to take back their equipment. TRAI New regulation provides

"According to the new regulation, the DTH operators cannot force the
subscriber to choose the package against their wish and operators will
have to provide the packages what customers want. The TRAI has also
made clear that subscribers are free to discontinue the service and
the operators will have to refunds money for DTH equipment that they
ask at the time of installation on security basis and the cost of
equipment."

I am also a principled man and know basic laws and when a big corporate
like Dish TV, can not keep up to their assurance and I don't want to continue
with them.

RE: Write your DishTV review here
The Cricket WC 2007 prompted me to buy a Dishtv, though team India let us down! In Gulf Countries to get the paid channels the subscription was as high as Rs.1,500/- ( for sports channels alone)and that too six months fee in advance!! This led me to the thought of getting a Dishtv. At the initial stage all the channels were available, but later I was not getting the fta channels!

Also the picture quality has also gone down, many of the channels are not at all clear!
But I'm happy that I have the sports channels (but sad tht no Neo sports) and I could watch live India winning the T20 WC in SA!
