So I finally found the time to check out this movie C Kkompany that has been doing rounds as of late and has been wooing its audiences. Sure enough I can say this without batting a brow that it is a really nice film, a light hearted comedy that is a must watch if you have spare time on your hands.
The movie starts off with three people, Akshay Kumar (Tushar Kapoor), Jha (Rajpal Yadav) and Dude (Anupam Kher) who are revealed to have a lot of problems going on in their families. They decided to do something about all of their life problems and thats how the story unfolds into a roller coaster of ups and downs as the three heroes go on a high with their indigenous underworld gang, C Company, and shake up the underworld.
The film has a subliminal message attached to it, which tells the story of middle class people and their struggle against the system. It makes you laugh at times and even touches your heart. All the actors have acted well in the film, however there are a few shortcomings in the direction part, but the story is good so the film keeps going fine. Let me review different aspects of the movie now.
Acting: There are no solid performances, because the script doesn’t allow them. But whatever roles the actors have got, they have played them out well. The comedy part is good and I didn’t see overacting in scenes that were meant to be comic. It was nice seeing Mithun in a light hearted role for once.
Screenplay: The screenplay is just about okay, some scenes are rushed when you think that they could have been spaced out a little more, some of the scenes were uncalled for. But yeah it isn’t all that bad either, bearable.
Direction: The direction has its own flaws, like I mentioned earlier, the angle between Tushar Kapoor and Raima sen is not given any time for explanation, and is very rushed. Similarly, the rise of C-Kompany is also not given enough time, and it is somewhat a thing that cannot be readily digested that a company of unknowns can shoot up to fame in such a small time, without any actual crimes. However, some scenes have been played out very nicely with some great comic timing. So its essentially a good job by Sachin Yardi.
Story: The story is a firm one. Not too loose, not too strong, but firm nevertheless. It holds you to your seat and you’re desperate to know whats going to come on next! So all in all, the story is very gripping and in my opinion, it is the life of the film.
Music: The music is nice. Bappa Lahiri, the son of Bappi Lahiri is debuting in Music direction with this film I think. And he sure has learned a lot from daddy dearest seeing as how the music is good. The songs are still ringing in my ears and will surely be a hit with the dancing kin.
OVERALL: This film lives up to my expectations and delivers what I wanted from it. A film that makes my day with some good, clean entertainment. I wasn’t expecting a social message, but it only added to the fun factor. I’ll rate the film 7.5/10 do watch it!
